Benefits of M2M
Unprecedented dependability
Power Optimization: Steelhead, eTracker and Cell-Net operating in very low power mode when not transmitting or receiving data, yet are still able to respond to incoming calls. This ensures battery powered applications can last through extended periods while still connected to the cloud.
Remote restart: Remotely on-demand, or on a schedule, power-cycle the entire station. This provides the most common remedy for station failures without a costly site visit.
Data protection: Steelhead and eTracker logs data locally as a backup to cloud data storage. Steelhead’s data can be download over Bluetooth, and eTracker data can be download from the removable standard SD card.
Data redundancy: Prior data set can be transmitted with current data set to avoid missing critical data transmissions caused by busy cellular communication networks.
Data connection verification: Before transmission, connection to the cellular network and the HTTPS/FTP server is verified. After three unsuccessful attempts to establish cell-network connection and/or server, the Steelhead and eTracker stops attempting connection to conserve power and the data is saved to the buffer (and always permanently saved in internal memory) for the next scheduled transmission until successful connection.
Extreme power efficiency means reduced power system requirements, yet still providing 2-way communications, low cellular data cost and the high data throughput you can’t get with GOES or other satellite telemetry.
Eliminate the cost, hassle and additional power draw of a data logger: Cell-Net connects directly to a smart (logging) sensor, eTracker connects directly to any analog or SDI-12 sensors. It’s “plug-and-play”—no special cables required.
All configuration and programming can be done at any time from any device.

Multiple communication networks: Cell services can be pre-provisioned or incorporate a local cellular service provider of preference (4G LTE, Cat-M). GOES, Iridium, and WiFi communications are also available. Webcam links also available.
Predict and prevent problems: Station and transmission health and performance data (RSSI, battery voltage, load current, solar voltage, internal temperature, MEID or IMEI number, and more) can be logged and included in every transmission. Also enable over-the-air (OTA) updates.
Instant event/alarm alerts: Set up notifications for events/alarms that will automatically trigger a notification and can automatically or manually change the logging and reporting interval during a defined period.
Benefits of collaboration in sharing data. User can incorporate sensor measurements from available third-party sources and/or enable measurement for each monitoring station accessible to the public. Also, incorporate remote station access and application programming interfaces (APIs).
