Met One 034B

Wind speed/direction sensor

Part # 51080

034B wind sensor

The Met One 034B wind speed and direction sensor combines both wind measurements into a single sensing unit. The unit installs in minutes and will provide accurate, long term, continuous monitoring in hostile environments.

The sensor is designed to operate within a temperature range of -30° to +70° C and with wind speeds up to 167 mph. Wind speed is measured using a sealed reed switch which provides a series of pulses at a rate proportional to wind speed. Aluminum cups are used for durability and strength. Wind direction is measured using an aluminum vane directly coupled to a precision potentiometer. Variations in wind direction produce a corresponding change of voltage, which lends itself to both digital and analog measurement systems.

  • Compact design for minimum visual impact
  • Long field life
  • Durable aluminum and stainless steel construction
  • Low starting threshold
  • Very low power operation
  • Easy maintenance and re-alignment
  • Sealed magnetic reed switch for wind speed measurement
  • Aluminum direction vane coupled to a precision potentiometer
  • Digital or analog measurement ability

What's the Easiest and Quickest Way to Start Collecting Data and Access it Anywhere?

The Answer's in the Cloud.

eTracker is a cellular modem and "virtual" cloud-based data logger in one (meaning you don't need to install a separate data logger). Simply connect your sensor and a power source to eTracker and you're done. Configure (or reconfigure) anytime from any Internet-connected device, and use Stevens-Connect to retrieve your data, or forward it to your favorite software system.
